Félix-Julien-Jean Bigot de Préameneu

Félix Julien Jean Bigot de Préameneu was born in Rennes (Brittany) on March 26, 1747.

He is elected to the Legislative Assembly in 1791 but he has to hide himself during the terror.

In 1800, Félix Julien Jean Bigot de Préameneu is one of the four jurist authors of the Code Napoleon, led by Cambacérès and instigated by Napoleon I of France in 1800.

In 1803, he is elected to the French Academy.

In 1808, he becomes Minister of Religious Affairs.

Bigot looses all his responsibilities at the beginning of the second Restoration.

He dies on July 31, 1825 in Paris and is buried in Pere-Lachaise cemetery (14th division).
